How mill bundles are built and placed into 20ft / 40ft / 40HC containers and flatbeds — using Vinawood packing rules, plus optional destination road payload caps.

Planning tool only. Bundle and container figures follow Vinawood mill packing rules (≈900 mm / 1,760 kg bundle caps; 20/40/flatbed space & weight). Destination payloads are indicative inland road planning defaults — not legal limits, not carrier quotes, and not a booked loading plan. Always confirm with your mill, forwarder, and destination trucker (tare, chassis, axles, permits, bridge formula, seasonal restrictions).

Mill packing rules

  • Bundle height cap ≈ 900 mm
  • Bundle weight cap ≈ 1,760 kg (1,600 kg + 10%)
  • Sheets per bundle round down to nearest 5 (min 5)
  • Sheet weight = density × width × length × thickness × 10⁻⁹

Loading sequence

Bundles leave the mill horizontal. In a container each bay interlocks — H beside V below, V beside H above — 20ft has two compartments, 40ft/40HC have four. Flatbeds keep every bundle horizontal, length parallel to the bed. Space and weight both matter — denser cores usually hit weight first.

Sheets lie flat on top of each other (a horizontal bundle), like a deck of cards on its side.

Only some bundles are stood up. A bay is H beside V below, then V beside H above — so each stack is H+V / V+H.

How are mill bundles oriented when loading?

Bundles are packed as horizontal stacks of sheets. At the container door they are typically rotated / forked into the box, then set into floor positions. Space and cargo weight both limit how many bundles fit.
